Recorded Memories of Local Folk 1910 - 1970. Burntisland Voices contains a large selection of the spoken memories of 25 local folk who were born during the years 1904 t0 1939. We are given a fascinating account of the times they lived in, and of the characters and buildings they knew.
Most of the oral history recordings on which the book is based were carried out in 2005. They represent the first phase of Burntisland Heretage Trust's oral history project.
The book covers the period from 1910 to 1970. It includes chapters on Recreation and Entertainment, Shopkeepers and Traders, the Second World War, the Binn Village, the Shipyard, and the Railway. There are more than 130 illustrations. RRP £8.95 |
